Computer Games and Reality

Today I'm off to Copenhagen for a research workshop on computer games and reality organised by the Center for Computer Games Research at the Information Technology University of Copenhagen, in collaboration with Filosofisk Prosjektsenter in Oslo, Norway, and the Department of Philosophy, Classics, History of Art and Ideas at the University of Oslo.

The workshop is entitled "The Third Place" - Computer Games and our Conception of the Real

Below is a link to my (provisional) Power Point presentation for the workshop, which I have called, as more or less as suggested for me by the organisers (and thanks for that!) Possible Worlds and Real Worlds in Interaction? Semiotic "Transworld" Perspectives. Here's a pdf version.

Many thanks to colleagues Anita Leirfall (UiO), Espen Aarseth (ITU) and John Richard Sageng (UiO and FPS) for the invitation to the workshop, and for help in taking care of all the necessary practical arrangements in connection with my trip.
